It’s time for another FASHION FOCUS. This week I have been working on a couple wigs for future outings in my down time. I’ve decided to use that inspiration on this week’s piece, and get a kick out of the world of fantasy hair (and make sure you get all the way to the bottom…. there are videos waiting for you!).
WHY ARE SO MANY AFRAID OF WEARING A LITTLE COLOR?
I dropped in Sak's one day with a friend that needed the powder room and inspiration struck! Everything in this room was bright and it felt great!!
Trends come and go and I’m okay with that. Change is always good…. not always easy, but ALWAYS good! This trend of bright colors is one that I’m very willing to participate in. From lemon yellow to tangerine, bright whites and even brighter greens… Bright Colors have made a comeback and I’ve been seeing it all over the place.
Although I look at the world through disco fabulous sunglasses, I can still see there are those out there that refuse to join the party. These people are gay haters. Yes, in 2012, we still have people that don’t accept homosexuality. It’s a ridiculous thought I know, but we are still fighting for our rights. The difference today is that we have such easy access to everyone and everything, so we hear the gay haters loud and clear. Kirk Cameron’s appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight became a viral video within minutes of the airing. CNN’s Roland Martin tweets during the Super Bowl and is suddenly being attacked by people for making homophobic remarks. A Catholic school teacher is fired essentially for being gay and it’s on every news site. We hear about it all.
This week I’ve decided to explore these gay haters a bit more. We welcome back my regular cohorts, Charles and Demanda, and introduce our three guest panelists: spokeswoman for the Conservative party and Jesus’ wife Shealita BaBay; GaySocialites.com‘s fashion commentator and man about town Ricky Jones; and writer, entertainer, all-around awesome person and my good friend Ayn Teigman.

Hits? Misses? Who was your favorite on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards? I definitely have my favorites. I also have my better luck next time‘s…. Whether they won or lost that shiny statuette, I’m sure they all are happy it’s over. Decisions, decisions, decisions! The stylists, the fittings, the choices… What color? Which designer? What textures and silhouettes. The jewels, the bag, the shoes, the hair, the makeup….. The pose, the arm candy, the better side, the perfect answer, the smile, and this year THE LEG (thanks Angelina Jolie!).
