The issue of Gay Marriage will be decided by the United States Supreme Court
On Friday, the Court issued an order to review Hollingsworth v. Perry (formerly Perry v. Brown), the federal constitutional challenge to California’s Proposition 8.
The Supreme Court also granted review in United States v. Windsor, a challenge to the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
Attacked for a Gay Marriage Editorial!
Destinie Mogg-Barakalow decided to write an opinion piece on gay marriage and tried to show how “Prop 8 generates more hate.” The editorial was shown in the February 15 edition of Bridgewater State University’s paper The Comment. According to the Huffington Post, Mogg-Barkalow felt Prop 8 supporters are intolerant and bigoted. She would experience the hate and ignorance first hand at her own campus.
