Bill de Blasio officially became the Democratic nominee for Mayor of New York City this week as Bill Thompson conceded the race eliminating any chance of a run-off election.
Todd Palin is cashing in on the family’s ability to gain nation-wide attention. The husband of former Vice-Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, is endorsing Newt Gingrich for President.
Palin said the former Speaker of the House shares similarities to his wife, Sarah, who opted out of this year’s race.
Todd released this statement endorsing Gingrich who currently trails Mitt Romney in most polls:
“Newt Gingrich is a true leader, which he has proven not only since the beginning of his campaign, but throughout his career… Just like Sarah, Newt has faced many successes and challenges. Despite his consultants leaving him last summer, Newt is still standing because of his ideas and his success in the debates – not by spending millions of dollars in campaign ads. From Day One, he has focused on how we can create jobs to get Americans back to work. This is a true testament to his leadership, commitment and hard work.”
Sarah Palin herself hasn’t endorsed a candidate in the Republican primary. She may decide not to do so in hopes of getting another offer to run as Vice-President on the GOP ticket.
