George Stephanopoulos drilled New York Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan on this week’s edition of  “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” regarding his thoughts about this week’s Supreme Court hearings on gay marriage.  Stephanopoulos also questioned Cardinal Dolan on how he thinks the Catholic Church has handled welcoming the LGBT community.

Wear red in person and online to support marriage equality

Red equal sign to support gay marriageIf you can’t make it to Washington, D.C. to rally in support of gay marriage on Tuesday, the Human Rights Campaign is encouraging you to wear red to show your support for marriage equality.

An online campaign has also formed in which those urging the Supreme Court to overturn Proposition 8 and deem the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional are posting this red equal sign as their photo on Facebook.

Supreme Court to hear gay marriage cases

It’s a big week for the gay marriage movement as the United States Supreme Court takes its first ever look at the issue.

On Tuesday, the first arguments will take place as the proponents of California’s Proposition 8 call on the court to deem the ballot measure unconstitutional.  Then on Wednesday, the court will hear a separate case that  challenges the Defense of Marriage Act.
