GaySocialites.com has always been active in politics, so we will once again voice our opinions throughout this political season. During the 2012 election, the GaySocialites.com Editorial Board will endorse several candidates in various races across the country. We may also invite others to share their thoughts on individual races too.
This our first endorsement is one that I care strongly about! As a gay man who lives in New York, Kirsten Gillibrand is a win-win. I can’t imagine how little progress would have been made for New York and the LGBT community without her representing me in Congress.
That is why I find it so important to write this first political endorsement this year myself. It is with great pride that GaySocialites.com endorses Kirsten Gillibrand in the race for her first full term as the junior Senator representing the great state of New York.
Ann Curry broke the news that she has been asked to leave her post as Today co-anchor on Thursday morning. As we first told you in the overnight hours, after more than two decades on the show, Ann’s run as co-host will end after only one year in the top job. From her current role on Today, Curry will move into a new position as Today show anchor-at-large and NBC News national/international correspondent. This, however, might not be the the most shocking news on this topic.
The rumor mill is spinning that Ann’s departure could lead to a reunion between Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford, who co-hosted Live with Regis and Kathie Lee from 1988 to 2000. GaySocialites.com spoke with a Today insider who says there is “a good chance” Regis and Kathie Lee will soon be co-hosting the fourth hour of Today.
Organizers estimate over two million people lined Fifth Avenue in Manhattan as New York City celebrated gay pride on Sunday.
The Heritage of Pride March is probably one of the biggest pride parades in the world and is likely the largest of several annual parades that cut through the city each year.
