Hillary Clinton delivers speech on gay rights for Pride [video]

President of the World (oops) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton released this video in which she outlines the accomplishments as well as the journey ahead for LGBT equality.   The biggest theme of the speech: “I wish you a happy Pride.”

Martha Wash at Queens Pride 2012 [video]

What’s New York City without Queens? The outer borough celebrated their queens this past Sunday with “A Generation of Pride in Queens”. The family of Julio Rivera, a gay man fatally attacked in the 1990s, served as the Grand Marshal of the Parade, which also included a performance by the cast of the Broadway show Wicked.

The festival, which immediately followed, featured performances by drag superstar Appolonia Cruz, recording artist and GaySocialites.com friend Anthony Lovari, “Under the Pink Carpet” host Lady Clover Honey, and everyone’s favorite weather girl, Martha Wash.

Queen Latifah all but comes out at Long Beach Pride

queen latifah at Long Beach Gay PrideQueen Latifah is a rapper, actress, Cover Girl model, writer, producer… but is she also now an openly gay woman.  It seems to depend on who you ask.  After years of speculation that she is a lesbian, Latifah headlined her first ever gay pride celebration over the weekend in Long Beach, California.  The big question is whether or not the larger-than-life rapper used this chance to set the record straight about her own sexual orientation.

Cops cancel Fiji gay pride march, claim to be protecting participants

Just before marchers were set to take the streets of Suva and march for gay pride on the International Day Against Homophobia, Fiji police voided the event’s permit.  Organizers say they covered all of their bases, but the cops say they didn”t know it was an LGBT related event until just before it started.
