New York City gets geared up for Gay Pride
Millions will line the streets along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Sunday to celebrate gay pride. This year’s Heritage of Pride March will be lead by singer Cyndi Lauper, Kiehls President Chris Salgardo as well as women’s rights activists Phyllis Siegel and Connie Copelov who will serve as grand marshalls.
The parade, however, is just one of many events set to take place as the weekend kicks off this year’s Pride celebration. Nightclubs are expected to be packed and areas such as Christopher Street, Eighth Avenue in Chelsea and other locations throughout the city rich in LGBT heritage will also be hot spots for locals and tourists alike.
