This weekend could be a much needed turning point for New York City nightlife as XL Nightclub opens at the new OUT NYC Urban Resort. John Blair and Beto Sutter are teaming up with Brandon Voss and Tony Fornabaio in an attempt to revive New York City’s dance scene. Their theme is “It’s all about the music,” and their diverse rundown signifies just that!
As you’ll hear in my State of Gay Nightlife Address on Sunday night, New York’s nightclub scene is in bad shape. Until now, no real dance venue has held a spot in New York’s gay community since the closing of such powerhouse venues as Roxy, Limelight and the Tunnel. Hopefully, this new team of nightlife titans will be able to bring things back to life. If anyone can do it, it is these guys!
After a lot of talk and anticipation, New York City’s nightlife landscape is about to change drastically with the grand opening of the XL Nightclub in the Out NYC Urban Resort in Manhattan.
Veteran promoter John Blair and his long-time partner Beto Sutter are teaming up with dynamic duo of Brandon Voss and Tony Fornabaio to revive their XL brand.
This will be the city’s first gay-oriented hotels and will contain a bigger and better XL than the former bar with the same name previously located in Chelsea. Gay nightlife pioneers John Blair and Beto Sutter are teaming up with leading promoters Tony Fornabaio and Brandon Voss promising excitement seven days every week. The XL team hasn’t announced an exact opening date or rundown, but XLnightclub.com reveals that FornabaioVoss Events will promote their Rockit party on Fridays while John Blair Promotions resurrects their infamous Saturday night weekly bash that made Roxy famous.
The new XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge features a state-of-the-art dance club with 14,000 square feet of high-tech party space, a 100-seat cabaret and a lounge that will open at 4pm daily.
In addition to XL, the complex features a 105-room “straightfriendly” boutique hotel, a glass enclosed atrium & wet zone, a gym & wellness center, lush outdoor courtyard gardens, a 24/7 café & restaurant and a business/conference center.
We’ll let you know as soon as the opening night is announced. That event will only be opened to XL members. You can sign up now on their website for free.
