Don’t say Hillary Clinton has done nothing for Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. Secretary of State Clinton says she doesn’t want the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya last month to be a part of the political “blame game,” so she is taking the wrap for the lack of security.
Clinton said she is in charge of security for State Department employees working around the world on behalf of the United States. She said in television interviews during a visit to Peru Monday that President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden would not know about specific decisions made by security for these individuals. She also reiterated that the circumstances surrounding attacks like the one on September 11 that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans are not always transparent right when they first occur.
So far, throughout the 2012 race, Secretary Clinton has said she is out of the political scene.
