Colin Quinn is one of the better comics doing political satire – he communicates highly complicated ideas through the most mundane and absurdly funny examples. I thoroughly enjoyed his Broadway hit Long Story Short, which told the history of the world, brought wittily down to a comprehensible human scale.

US Supreme Court will hear gay marriage cases this week
It’s a big week for the gay marriage movement as the United States Supreme Court takes its first ever look at the issue.
On Tuesday, the first arguments will take place as the proponents of California’s Proposition 8 call on the court to deem the ballot measure unconstitutional. Then on Wednesday, the court will hear a separate case that challenges the Defense of Marriage Act.

In a video released by the Human Rights Campaign on Monday, Hillary Clinton announced her support for gay marriage.
The move doesn’t shock many as Clinton served as a world-wide advocate for gay rights while serving as Secretary of State over the past four years.
Queen Elizabeth II makes historic move for diversity, gay rights
Queen Elizabeth II is making history by standing up against discrimination. Among those who are praising the Queen for doing so are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) activists from across the globe. Although sexual orientation is not mentioned specifically in the charter, many LGBT groups are praising the queen saying the verbage makes it clear that the monarchy is coming out in favor of equal rights for not only women, minorities and the religious but also for the gay and lesbian community.
