Demanda Endorses: Two for the Price of None

The only thing I like better than a party is a new party. And the only thing I like better than a new party is 2 new parties. So I’m sure you can imagine that I’m a little weak in the knees over promoter Nathan Kelly and his new Invasion Thursdays at Bar 13. I haven’t known Nathan for long but have run into him on numerous occasions, most recently at his Play Hard Tuesdays at XL. It was there he whispered in my white ear about the Union Square space and his plan to begin a new Thursday night gay party. Fast forward a few and here we are–having one of the most beautiful weeks of the year and a perfect excuse to step out for an evening you’ll most likely forget (or at least I will, because that’s how I roll).

Introducing 'Gulliver Travels' by Justin Luke (Zirilli), THE MUST READ book of the decade! (Out May 17th)

And that title might be an understatement! Then, of course, most probably we aren’t giving you anything new; ‘Gulliver Travels‘ has created such a commotion and generated such excitement it’s impossible you have not heard of it already! In any case, here’s everything you need to remember (or know) about it:

First things first: mark your calendars because the book is coming out May 17th (as an e-book and in print format)! In the mean time, stay tuned as we bring you all the news and daily reviews as Associate Editor Jack Barbosa and yours truly start the first ever GaySocialites Book Club!

Uncompromisingly smart and real, ‘Gulliver Travels’ presents itself as a novel everyone (not only the gays) should read. The plot is simple, but the story proves surprisingly deep and irremediably close to home in one way or another… everyone will find a bit (or a lot) of themselves reflected in this courageous tale of self-discovering, unburied secrets and blatant denial. Fresh, erotic and incredibly funny, this isn’t your standard coming-of-age story, but rather one of coming to terms with your past and your present. It is both hilarious and desperate, and ultimately inspiring.

The story of Gulliver Leverez, ‘living in America’s greatest, wildest, gayest city’, trying to prove wrong those who said that ‘you don’t live in NYC, you struggle to stay alive as it slowly kills you’ will give this Gay Socialite par excellence, ultimate social butterfly, social media expert (i.e. addict) and nightlife creature/promoter extraordinaire that is Justin Luke the title of being one of metro-gay fiction’s most promising writers!

For those of you who live under a rock, Justin Luke Zirilli (a.k.a. Justin Buchbinder) is the Co-Director and Head Promoter of the New York-Based gay nightlife events company, BoiParty.com, the biggest, longest-running gay nightlife events company in NYC, putting the life back in the city’s Nightlife with the hottest gay dance parties at some of the city’s most famous nightlife spots including Splash and Club Rush! A good friend of this house, JL is one half of our favourite podcast In The Kitchen with Austin and Justin. He is also the creator of a widely and wildly successful Facebook group Gorgeous, Gay, and Twenty-Something (a.k.a. GG20) (read all about it here).

Gully, your next best friend

Special mention deserves Gulliver (Gully) himself with his uncanny ability to make everyone love him and hate him at the same time. Guaranteed you’ll think you’ve seen him everywhere and you’ll wish he’d be your best friend!

Early last year ‘he made a brief appearance on Tumblr, where he published a blog (that blog was the first of four revisions of the novel). Gulliver wasn’t real, but everyone thought he was. Probably because he had a Facebook profile, fan page, Formspring, and Twitter. He received 10 job offers, was asked on 74 dates, was invited to 154 sexual hook-ups, and interviewed five times for other blogs’ said Justin on his blog. Oh, and did we mention he is totally hot and adorably cute?

May 17th is the date, when ‘Gully’ comes out as an eBook for Nook and Kindle as well as paperback on Amazon and (possibly Barnes & Noble). Until then you should visit GrabGully.com to find out why this “‘Delicious novella’ (…) that evokes Oscar Wilde with a two-drink minimum” (-‘Gay Rosa Parks’ Jonathan D. Lovitz, star of LOGO’s “Setup Squad”) left Joel Derfner (author of “SWISH” and star of IFC’s “Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys”) saying “Please, sir, I want some more!” There you can read the plot, tons of hot reviews and more about Justin, as well as find out about appearances and parties, and of course how to order the book. You’ll also get to listen to the official theme song for the novel called “Welcome 2 My World“, by the amazing Ryan W. (Available on iTunes!)

Make sure to get a Facebook reminder and stay up to date with the latest news by following Gully on Facebook and Twitter. And stay tuned for more hot news, as Justin prepares the sequel, when Gulliver Travels North to Provincetown! (Oh, aren’t we excited?!)

Don’t forget to visit Justin’s blog, find him on Facebook and follow him on Twitter. Take a look also at his Gay New York page of sexy, fun, and fantastic indy videos shot and edited by him, live from New York City.

Don’t forget to listen to him and fellow promoter extraordinaire Austin Helms on their podcast In the Kitchen, find them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter!

Finally, you should also visit BoiParty.com, find them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter too!
