
The Animal Planet has a lot of people questioning their belief in mermaids, but does the video that they’re airing prove that mermaids really do exist or is it just for entertainment purposes?
“Mermaids: The Body Found” is what Animal Planet is calling a “speculative documentary.” It was written, produced, , researched, developed and written by the channel’s senior vice president of development, Charlie Foley. “Mermaids: The Body Found” contains video of what appears to be the body of a mermaid allegedly shot with a camera phone on a beach in Washington in 2004.
Without further ado, you can see the video they claim contain the mermaid in the video embedded below. (Keep in mind that the Animal Planet “speculative documentary” also contains lots of computer generated images illustrating how they think the underwater creatures may look. They are certainly not lovely, big breasted princess-looking types you might have seen at Disney Land; and they certainly don’t look like Daryl Hannah did in Splash. As a matter of fact, this mermaid special is a part of Animal Planet’s “Monster Week”. Take a look:
