NY gay bars gets lots of attention after hosting go go boy fundraiser for Obama

Betsy Hoover, director of online organizing for Obama for America, told the Washington Post that “personalization is heavily encouraged.” And you can guarantee that this event was personalized. Eastern Bloc was packed who go-go boy some wearing Andrew Christian Underwear with Obama’s face printed on them. Another evidently wore an American flag thong.
The host committee, which consisted of such eclectic names as Paper Magazine’s Mickey Boardman, former Big Brother contestant Will Winkle and retired hockey player Sean Avery, evidently set a goal to raise $20,000 for Obama’s re-election bid. I’m sure no one is going to turn down the $10K they did come up with.Around 150 donors attended go-go Obama. Despite pics of the President and the First Lady all over the front of Eastern Bloc, they couldn’t manage to get the East Village boys to drop $100 for a Saturday night at the neighborhood gay bar. Ben Maisani, Anderson Cooper’s cheating boyfriend, is the bar’s co-owner. However, Silver Fox sightings at Go Go for Obama!

Anderson Cooper still shacking up with cheating boyfriend, but will they still get married?
It’s been more than two weeks since photos surfaced of Anderson Cooper’s live-in boyfriend making out with another man in a New York City park, but it looks like he and Ben Maisani are still living together.
The New York Daily News has evidently been stalking Cooper’s fire station-turned-condo and spotted both Anderson and Ben coming and going from the unique Manhattan home.
The News didn’t say they say Cooper and Maisani leave separately about an hour apart from one another on Tuesday but didn’t mention if they’ve spotted the CNN anchor with his bar-owning-beau together. Their report also didn’t specify how long they’ve been camped out in front of the guy’s fire station
.
Anderson and Ben have been together for about three years, and rumor has it the two men were planning to get hitched as soon as next month. Cooper likes to keep his private life secret. He doesn’t discuss his personal life often, so the future of their nuptials is left in limbo. He even kept his sexual orientation under wraps until earlier this year.
Anderson Cooper calls off engagement to longtime boyfriend
When Anderson Cooper opened his closet door last month, he probably expected his long term relationship with bar owner Ben Maisani was going to come under scrutiny. But what Cooper probably did not expect was for photos to surface of Maisani locking lips with another man in the park.
Photos of Maisani kissing another man surfaced earlier this week on DailyMail. Boyfriend Cooper was caught “completely off-guard” and was reportedly “furious,” a source told the National Enquirer. Now the publication is reporting that Cooper has called off his engagement. The two were discussing the possibility of wedding sometime before Labor Day, a move supported by Cooper’s famous mother Gloria Vanderbilt.
When the photos surfaced, Cooper and Maisani were vacationing with friends Kelly Ripa and Bravo’s Andy Cohen in Croatia. Maisani was sent packing and swiftly shipped back to the US. According to the New York Daily News, the couple had an open relationship, but the public embarrassment over the photos were really what got to Cooper.
Though the couple seems to be split now, Cooper is keeping it optimistic, sending a photo of himself and Ripa through Instagram and tweeting identical sunset photos as Cohen. Hey, what’s better after a breakup than some TLC from your girlfriends?
