The days of gay clubs clustering into one or two New York City neighborhoods are over. Even my old stomping grounds over in Bushwick, that’s in Brooklyn, evidently has a booming nightlife scene for the gay party goers.
On Valentine’s Day, three of the biggest names in New York nightlife are coming together to launch a new weekly party called “Boys Night Out” at the Ritz.
The new Bronx LGBTQ Center is working hard to re-build it’s organization and to do so, they’re throwing a Valentine’s Vamp gala fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, February 9th from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm at club Rebel NYC (251 West 30th Street, Manhattan).
“Valentine’s Day is a celebration of unconditional love, making it very appropriate to also honor the LGBTQ community, as well as the caring and nurturing that can be found there. A Center that provides support and a safe space is so much-needed in every borough of our Metropolitan area. LGBTQ culture and community is found way beyond the boundaries of Manhattan,” said Lady Clover Honey, one of the event’s hostesses.
Police say at least 232 people are dead after a band’s fireworks show caused a quickly burning fire to rip through a nightclub in Brazil.
Patrons at Kiss Nightclub struggled to escape, many unable to find their way out. Investigators say that was partially due to one emergency exit that was locked and bouncers trying to stop what they thought were patrons skipping out on their bar tabs.
