This “lady” is one of my favorite comedy queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race, and it has long been clear that she’s always an audience favorite. Her current show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Lick This Boxx is mostly stories of Ms. Boxx’s drag life, up to and including her time on Drag Race. Pandora delivers these tales with the offhanded ease of girlfriends exchanging gossip. Behind that nonchalance, however, is a steel-sharp sense of comic timing, and that’s what really makes her the rising star she is.

Watch the first 10 minutes of RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race premiere here! [video]

This may be the first time a drag queen actually arrived to a party early–LogoTV leaked the first 10 minutes of the highly anticipated RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race to People Magazine earlier this week. And if the first 10 minutes tell us anything about the upcoming season, it’s that the premiere episode is appropriately titled, “Never Too Early to Throw Shade!” Yes, the category is librarian realness as each all star arrives, and they immediately take to reading each other like books.
“Raven walked in from a cocktail party it looks like,” Pandora Boxx quips. “Thanks for trying, girl!”
“Someone’s gotta go home first,” Manila Luzon says upon Mimi Imfurst’s entrance.
And after learning the first twist of the competition, a box is wheeled out, to which Latrice Royale can’t hold back: “If Shangela’s in that box, I’m jumping on top of the box, and we ain’t gonna have to worry about it no more.”

Details surrounding Sahara Davenport's death revealed

Details surrounding the sudden death of former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Sahara Davenport, born Antoine Ashley, have finally been revealed. A representative for Davenport released a statement yesterday confirming the drag star ”passed away due to heart failure on October 1, 2012, at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland.”
Speaking on behalf of the family, Ashley’s mother, Angela Ashley Reddish, said: ”I thank God for giving me an Angel Antoine Ashley to share with the rest of the world. My family and I would like to thank everyone for their condolences and support. We know that our Angel is now dancing in heaven. May God bless each and everyone.”
Ashley’s boyfriend of six years, Karl Westerberg, who performs as Manila Luzon, also released a statement: “Antoine lived to entertain the world as Sahara Davenport, and the world was in awe over his extreme talent. But his heart is what made us all fall in love with him. To me he will always be my best friend, my hero, my Diva, and I have always considered myself more than lucky to have him be forever a part of my life. Thank you, hon, for bringing so much beauty to all of us. Your legacy lives on in me and all of us you’ve touched.”
RuPaul, Logo and Drag Race judge Michelle Visage also released statements expressing their condolences for the deceased performer via Twitter. RuPaul’s official statement was simple: “Shocked & heartbroken over @SaharaDavenport. Never occurred to me that we’d ever lose one of my girls. I see them as immortal.”
Gag on the Drag Race All Stars trailer [video]

It looks like it’s going to be one helluva season for Ru and her All Stars. Logo released the trailer for the much anticipated RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars and there is plenty of shade being cast from these returning contestants.
“These are not just challenges,” warns queen bee RuPaul. “This is legacy work. Every moment, every nuance matters.”
It looks like there’s going to be claws and hair pulling and a whole lot of time spent in the library reading. We’re already gearing up for this season’s drinking games, too!
All drag queens on deck!

The passenger list of the Drag Stars at Sea: Revenge of the Wench cruise, presented exclusively through ALandCHUCK.travel looks like it could cast several all-star seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The “Caribbean Adventure Cruise” will host over 40 drag queens from various seasons of the Logo show, and will sail Miami to Nassau, Paradise Island, St. Thomas, St. John, Puerto Rico and Turks & Caicos.
So who’s sailing the high seas? The lineup includes: Alexis Mateo, Alisa Summers, Bebe Zahara Benet, Carmen Carrera, Chad Michaels, Delta Work, DiDa Ritz, Jade, Jessica Wild, Jiggly Caliente, JuJubee, Lashauwn Beyond, Latrice Royale, Madame LaQueer, Manila Luzon, Mariah, Mimi Imfurst, Morgan McMichaels, Mystique Summers, Pandora Boxx, PhiPhi O’Hara, Phoenix, Raja, Rebecca Glasscock, Sahara Davenport, Shangela, Shannel, Sharon Needles, Sonique, Stacy Layne Matthews, Tatianna, The Princess, Tyra Sanchez, Venus DLite, Yara Sofia and judge Michelle Visage. Something tells me they will need all 111,000 tons of the Carnival Glory just to carry all the costumes and wigs. No word yet on whether Ru will be on board. Cover girl, put the base in your boat…
