Uber-Conservative Republicans have been on the attack since Barack Obama made history as the first sitting President of United States to announce his support for same sex marriage.
Down in Mississippi, its even worse than you might imagine. GOP state Representative Andy Gipson thinks the best solution is to kill all the homosexuals.
In a rant on his Facebook page, Gipson quoted the Bible to justify killing all gays. His message on the social networking site started with this fragment:
“Been a lot of press on Obama’s opinion on “homosexual marriage.”
The fact that this man, an elected official, can’t write in complete sentences is a good example of how his timecould be used more wisely improving education in the State of Mississippi.
He continued as follows:
“The only opinion that counts is God’s: see Romans 1:26-28 and Leviticus 20:13. Anyway you slice it, it is sin. Not to mention horrific social policy.”
It appears that Gipson has issues with putting together sentences properly, doesn’t it.i
Here’s where it gets much more disturbing. Just like others who have ordered mass killings of a minority, Gipson maniuplated God’s Word to justify his hatred.
He wrote,
”According to Leviticus 20:13, “If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”
If Gipson really knew what the Bible says, he would be aware of the Commandment that says, “Thou shall not kill.” He would also know that Jesus spread a message of loving all people no matter what differences you may have with them.
Mississippi is known for being one of the most poverty stricken, uneducated and least healthy states in the union. It seems to me, that Mr. Gipson’s time could be used more wisely by addressing the hunger and homelessness problems that face. his state. Or maybe he could focus on legislation that would help encourage children to continue their education beyond eight grade.
Mr. Gipson is clearly not the smartest bulb in the box. Like Hitler, Hussein and bin Laden before him; Gipson tires to manipulate religion to justify his actions.
