Lady Gaga, currently on her Born This Way Ball Tour, is taking advantage of Amsterdam’s liberal marijuana laws.

During a concert earlier this week, the singer was showered with gifts on stage. A pack of smokes is thrown to her and Gaga tosses them aside after sniffing a few to see if they are funny cigarettes. Then a joint is tossed on stage. “Holland, is it real?” she asks. Once determining that it is, in fact, the real deal, she lights up in front of the enthusiastic crowd. After taking a few hits, she throws the mostly unsmoked joint back into the audience.

“For those of you who are wondering if I am high right now, I am not. That is not nearly enough to get me high,” she laughs. Then she sorts through more gifts, including a drawing of her face in front of a cannabis leaf and a shirt with two pot leaves on it (oh, and of course the obligatory jackets with Barbie doll heads sewn on).

She dons the shirt and sits down at a piano to perform her hit, “Poker Face.” But before she sings, Gaga decides to “discuss [her] current openness about being a cannabis smoker” with her fans. “It has totally changed my life,” she shares, and attributes it to helping her cut down her drinking, as well as it being a “spiritual experience”… for her music, of course.

 

“For me, it’s like the new peace sign. It’s like saying, everybody just  needs to take a breath because everything’s going to be OK.”

We already loved our Mother Monster, but now just a little bit more.
