Despite having its critics, MTV has had a successful run with its white trash spotlighting series Jersey Shore.  The suits over at MTV have pulled the plug on the show saying the upcoming season will be it’s last.

So, why did the overly tan, under educated clan get canceled?  In a sense, they are victim of their own success and the spawn of Snooki.

MTV’s Executive Vice President of Programming Chris Linn told EW.com, “We’ve always said we’d do the show for as long as it made sense. We noticed what was going on in their lives, with Nicole (Snooki) having her baby, the relationships, etc.”

While I’m not sure what ever made sense about the show, I’m certainly glad to see it go!  Snooki & JWOWW (who or whatever that is) also have spin-off that is good for at least another season.  It looks like the end is finally near for the fad that was the Jersey Shore.
