Teen offers tips on how to survive high school if you're gay [video]

David Levitz may claim he’s not a great advice giver, but the words of wisdom he imparts in his YouTube video that’s quickly going viral is dead on.

A recent high school graduate, Levitz says he came out at age 11. In his video, titled “Being Gay in High School”, he advises not to crush on straight boys. “You end up looking like a creeper,” he says, though admits it’s not “complete unwarranted.” He also says to avoid Grindr, particularly because there are a lot of people out there who want to take advantage of younger guys. And if you find yourself without any other gay friends in the area, Levitz says to use social networking sites to your advantage as a means to meet others in the global community. He also feels you shouldn’t focus on having a boyfriend, but rather your school work and your friends.

“There’s still a lot to get out of high school, even if you are the only gay person,” Levitz concludes. “Really make the most of it, because I assure you that once you get onto college or later on in life, there will be time for boys.”

Bravo, David! Keep sharing your advice for the youngins’!
