In a career that has shocked and awed fashionistas everywhere, Phillipe and David Blond are no strangers to trying new adventures and going places no other designers have gone before. While most of their work has shown up on countless celebrities and in high-end window displays, they are also known to have designed and decorated more subtle pieces. Presenting the not so subtle redesigning of an American icon: Barbie!

Mattel recently approached the deadly designer duo to come up with a new approach to the age old doll to give it some extra chutzpah in this modern age. Drag Queen Barbie, anyone? Taking one look at this bedazzled bitch reveals that she is none other than Phillipe Blond with wispy blond hair and balls-to-the-wall silver jeweled gown. This by far beats out Amanda Lepore‘s doll brought out a few years ago in very limited quantities. I mean, this queen is even carrying a white fur coat. Eat your heart out, ladies. And those heels? This chick seemingly also snatched up a pair of Louboutins along the way.

The prototype is very detailed which makes this writer wish he never grew up. Whatever. I’ll probably buy it for the collection anyway.
