While PETA’s anti-fur campaigns have courted such celebrities as Pamela Anderson, Dita Von Teese, and Eva Mendes, there is one celeb that recently seems to not give a shit about an open letter from gay senior vice president Dan Matthews. Lady Gaga back in 2009 told Ellen DeGeneres that, “I hate fur and I don’t wear fur.” Sure as shit the queen bitch herself was seen sporting a fur coat in the middle of this moist summer while in Bulgaria on Sunday. Was she lying or just have a change of heart?
In Matthews letter he bitched saying, “…these recent photos of you in fox and rabbit and with a wolf carcass make it appear that you have amnesia…What happened? Are your stylists telling you that it’s fake, or are you a turncoat?” PETA themselves have known to be whiny bullies at times and truth be told even I have worn fur before. (A 1930’s stone marten collar to be exact. Whatever, it was 20 degrees out.) So I don’t blame Gaga for tweeting the response, “For those press and such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually real, please don’t forget to credit the designer HERMES. Thank You! LOVE, gaga.” Talk about balls.
While I personally don’t enjoy Gaga putting herself on the front lines for the gays (long story), I sure can appreciate her “whatever, so suck it” attitude. And if worse comes to worst and PETA resorts to their old school tactics of throwing red paint on you, just know that all they did was make that fur more chic now. Ala Comme Des Garcons, anyone?
