A gay man says he was attacked while on his way to the Fire Party over the weekend in Atlanta. An apparent biased crime, the victim was evidently questioned by his attacker about whether or not he wa a homosexual.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he he was walking through Atlantic Station after having parked his car as he headed for party which took place at Old Fox Grill.
According to an LGBT activist who spoke to local media about the incident, the assailant fled by foot and there have been no arrests. That man said he didn’t witness the attack, but he pointed out that security guards inside Atlantic Terminal were not very helpful when the victim reported the attack. They did, however, contact the Atlanta Police Department who took a report. Their initial statement said that a gay couple had been attacked, about that was evidently inaccurate.
The gay bashing victim is expected to recover from minor injuries as a result of the attack which included a sprang wrist and at least five lacerations requiring stitches.
According to Fenuxe Magazine, over 1,000 people attended the Fire Party- an event the local publication sponsored.
