If you live in a bath house and don’t travel out too often, you may not realize we are going head on into upcoming elections which means we are already seeing the political shit show that is our federal government and candidates pitting groups against each other to get votes. The gays seem to be the number one (if not, we’re definitely high up there) foe to America these days along with President Obama’s health care law according to the right wing nut job Republicans and Bible thumping lunatics. All of the other bullshit aside, one case in particular is pretty hilarious when it comes to a group putting itself in a corner with little friends to aid it.

No, I’m not speaking of the psychotic rogue state of North Korea but Chic-Fil-A. It all began when the fast food chain’s president, Dan Cathy, stated:

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say ‘we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage’ and I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”

The response to his words was quick, biting, and deadly as the news took to social media sites resulting in several planned boycotts and the Jim Henson Company even pulling out of any future dealings with Chic-Fil-A as far as licensing. Several major cities have also responded with officials announcing publicly they either wanted to prevent further expansion or keep Chic-Fil-A out of their city entirely. One Chicago city council member, Proco “Joe” Moreno stated:

“If you are discriminating against a segment of the community, I don’t want you in the 1st Ward. Because of this man’s ignorance, I will now be denying Chick-fil-A’s permit to open a restaurant in the 1st Ward.”

In addition, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel followed up, “Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values. They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents. This would be a bad investment, since it would be empty.” Not such good news for a fast food chain planning to open up another shop in a hipster filled part of the Windy City. But, it doesn’t stop there. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino made a statement of his own discussing how he no longer wanted any Chic-Fil-A restaurants in his city at all.

Meanwhile, Chic-Fil-A’s PR nightmare continued when they were caught opening a fake Facebook account in an attempt to get sympathy. I don’t know about the marketing department over at the fast food chain but I sure as shit would be jumping ship right about now as additional boycotts and protests against the company are planned in the near future. Come on, Chic-Fil-A… who do you think you are kidding with your terrible PR responses that seem to be thought up by a roundtable of 5-year-olds? Wait, I take it back… that’s an insult to the children.
