Big Ang, One Big Gay Magnet

Angela Raiola, better known as Big Ang to pop culture enthusiasts, is really a breakout star. Since being introduced to audiences earlier this year with the premiere of the second season of VH1’s Mob Wives, she’s already developed an unparalleled following. With an upcoming acting debut in Men in Black 3, as well as her own spin-off show premiering on July 8th, Big Ang is on everyone’s mind. GaySocialites.com had the opportunity to ask this diva a few questions about men, her past and our personal favorite, the Drunken Monkey.

GaySocialites: So, I know you’re married, but you still have guys who buy you houses, cars, furs, the whole kit and caboodle. And I saw an interview when you said you once stalked someone for their house. Which of thse houses that you’ve had has been your favorite?

Big Ang: The one on the water.

GS: Why do you think these guys are obsessed with you?

BA : Because I am fun to be with.

GS: Fair enough, lol. Well, what happens when you break up with a wise guy? Do you keep everything or…?

BA: I just say this isn’t working out and of course I keep everything. They don’t get shit back!

GS: Ha! Makes sense. So, remind me and our readers, how exactly did you get the nickname Big Ang again?

BA: When I was 12 I used to hang out with another Angela. She was short and I wasn’t. Duh.

GS: Well it sounds so obvious now that you said it. How has life changed for you after Mob Wives? Or has it? You were just introduced this year.

BA: It changed so much. Everyone notices me now. It’s so glamorous. I love my fans!

GS: I can imagine. Now, Jennifer Graziano, executive producer of  Mob Wives, announced you will be getting your own spinoff show. What do you think she chose you for the spin off after only being on the show for one season?

BA: Jennifer thinks that I am great and I think she’s the best!

GS: Does this mean you won’t be on season 3 of Mob Wives then?

BA: I will be on for the 3rd season.

GS: What’s your new show called?

BA: The Big Ang Show.

GS: Clever. Let’s get a little more personal. RadarOnline recently said you were “obsessed with plastic surgery.” Do you agree?

BA: I love looking good so plastic surgery does it for me.

GS: Nice. You have been criticized by others who have family members in “the mob” for doing this show and exposing the mobster lifestyle. Ratting them out, so to speak. What do you say to your critics?

BA: I say I’m not a RAT ever!

GS: And what about those who have said it is wrong for people like yourself to have fame and fortune that was built on the basis of organized crime? Everyone from former mayors and police chiefs to family members of victims who were said to be murder, robbed, etc. by member of the mob have criticized you. Do your uncle’s victims ever cross your mind?

BA: It doesn’t affect me at all. The Mob Wives show is about us women. We don’t do those things.

GS: True. But in case you do, I won’t delve further. So, obviously you know the gay community loves
us some Big Ang! Why do you think gay men relate to you so easily?

BA: I’ve always been a gay magnet! I love gay women and men! Always!

GS: Me too. Lastly, it’s not secret that us GaySocialites are a little fond of the drink. You still own the Drunken Monkey in Staten Island, yes? What nights are good to come in? Drink specials?

BA: If you want to have a good time at The Drunken Monkey come any night! The monkey is the place, straight or gay. We have a fun time here. Special drinks are Monkey Balls, Luchi Nut Martinis, anything you could think of.

GS: My mouth is watering just drinking, er thinking, about those balls.
