Lindsay Lohan’s recent car accident might have seemed innocent enough as reports surfaced about her rented Porsche crashing into an 18-wheeler. However, now it looks like at least two bits of controversy have floated to the surface.
Evidently, Lindsay panicked a bit after her car collided with the truck, and it might have resulted in misdemeanor charges which could land the “Mean Girls” star back in jail.
The truck driver who collided with Lohan is speaking out, but he is only releasing his first name- James. He says that an Escalade was following along behind Lohan and her assistant who were riding in the Porche collided with his truck. James then told TMZ that he saw Lindsay and her assistant jump into the Escalade at which point he assumed she was trying to flee the scene, so he called 9-1-1. Shortly after that, he says a member of Lindsay’s entourage approached him and tried to make a plan with him saying that they wanted to keep the accident under wraps since someone “famous was involved.” It was too late though. The cops were already on their way.
James isn’t done with his account of the story, though. It gets a bit juicier. He claims that he saw Lohan’s assistant return to the Porche and fill a bag with some items from the car, then return it to the Escalade. After the items were safe in the other vehicle, he says, then another member of Lindsay’s crew came back and said, “Don’t mention the bag to the cops.’”
When the cops did arrive, Lindsay evidently made another HUGE mistake. She tried to tell the cops that her assistant was actually the one driving the car, however he must not be a good liar since cops saw right through it. No word yet on whether or not that lie to the cops will get Lindsay locked up again.
Lohan’s representative says, “Lindsay is cooperating fully with law enforcement. She has answered all their questions and provided them with everything they have asked for.”
The cops said that neither Lohan nor her assistant seemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, LiLo says that James, the truck driver, cut her off.
