Erik Rhodes, a gay adult film star, died this morning at the age of 30, reports several media outlets.
Adam Robinson of Falcon Studios, which Rhodes was an exclusive actor and model, confirmed that he died early this morning: “It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Erik Rhodes this morning. Erik died of a heart attack in his sleep.”
Rhodes’ own Twitter account confirmed the reports later in the day:
Falcon Studios released this statement on their website earlier today: ”It is with utmost sadness that we make the announcement of Erik Rhodes’ passing. He wanted to give his fans the best he could every single time he stepped in front of the camera. Rest in peace, Erik and know that we are celebrating your life and your achievements, but we will miss you and all the special moments you have given us forever.” They also honored the “Mega-Star” through a blog post on their site.
Friends and fans have been expressing their grief over the sudden passing. He “was a truly hilarious and larger-than-life character as well-known for his wicked sense of humor as he was for his enormous muscles,” wrote Mickey Boardman of Paper Magazine. Others, especially those in the industry, have been pouring out condolences over Twitter.
Rhodes, who appeared in 44 scenes with Falcon Studios, was one of their biggest stars. His life however, as apparent through his blog, was troubled, as he struggled with alcohol, drug and steroid addiction. Regardless, it is devastating to lose anyone in our community, and GaySocialites.com sends our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Erik.
