Don’t worry, Tina Turner is still alive. IMDB confirmed with the “Proud Mary” singer ‘keeps on rolling’ even as you read this. They contacted Turner’s publicist who said despite rumors on the web that an “anticipated” obituary was eminent.
The 72 year old singer is simply the latest victim of death by social networking. Many, many other celebrities have also been hit with the hoax such as Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus; however more people seemed to accept the truth in this due to Turner’s age.
The recent deaths of fellow divas, Whitney Houston and Donna Summer were both first reported via social networking making it highly believable that Tina’s passing might follow the trend.
Her reps first denied the allegations on Saturday, but the rumors continue to spread across the web.
