Canadian gay-porn actor and escort Luka Rocco Magnotta is the latest to be added to Interpol’s Wanted Persons List in connection with what is being described as one of the grisliest murders in 2012.
The 29-year-old Magnotta, whose real name is Eric Clinton Newman, is being charged in the murder and dismemberment of a man after a human foot was sent in the mail to the headquarters of Canada’s Conservative Party. A note with the mailing said there were 6 others body parts in the mail, and Canadian police intercepted a human hand being sent to Canada’s Liberal Party. Police traced these findings back to a limbless human torso found in a suitcase not far from Magnotta’s Montreal apartment. Although police are not disclosing details of the crime, they did confirm Magnotta’s apartment was indeed a crime scene.
But that’s not the most gruesome part of the story. Magnotta filmed the brutal murder and posted it online. The video, infamously now called, “1 Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick” shows the murder taking place, from the killing to dismemberment and beheading to even cannibalism and necrophiliac sex acts being performed on the corpse. Although several sites have since taken down the video, originally posted on May 25th, there are still traces of it online. (We will spare you the details, but if you really want to know, a quick internet search will lead you there.)
This is not the first time Magnotta has fallen under scrutiny. Animal-rights activist group PETA has been trying to identify a man who posted a video a couple years ago titled, “1 Boy, 2 Kittens” in which two kittens are suffocated via vacuum. Magnotta has since been identified as the perpetrator in the video.
A former girlfriend of Magnotta’s, “Julie”, has shed some light onto his personality. They apparently dated in Toronto during the summer of 2006 and she tells Xtra!, “he was a very cold person.” She says during their time together, they did not have sex and there was “no intimacy, no nothing.” She also pointed to his obsession with serial killers (“He would talk about them constantly”) and described his two very different yet distinct personalities:
“Julie paints an image of a Magnotta with two very distinct personalities: a quiet, passive-aggressive man who would ‘hold all of his anger in,’ and a vain, conceited man who would demand she take pictures of him to post to his multitude of online profiles. She says he spent much of his time checking the internet, especially his YouTube channels, where he would later post grisly images of animal mutilation. ‘He was very self-obsessed, very narcissistic,’ she says. He was prone to sudden mood swings.”
It is believed that Magnotta, who has appeared in over 20 adult films, has fled Canada and may be in Europe, specifically France. Interpol has issued an international warrant for his arrest.
