Two New Jersey politicians are crossing party lines to get a good laugh. Governor Chris Christie (R) and Newark Mayor Corey Booker (D) joined forces to shoot a video for Jersey’s correspondence dinner, and the two politicians prove they can poke fun at themselves no matter how seriously they take their jobs.
The video opens with Governor Christie’s staff pondering their next move. As the governor listens in, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Instead of adding more town hall meetings, something Christie has become known for, he decides to take a page out of the Newark Mayor’s book. However, Christie quickly finds that being a superhero doesn’t come easy. Mayor Booker has been known to shovel snow with sanitation workers, live in public housing and even saved a resident from a burning building. In the video he even saves a baby from falling to the ground and follows his catch with a Tim Tebo pose.
The video spoofs more of Booker’s accomplishments and leaves us wondering whether or not Governor Christie wants to join Mitt Romney’s campaign by running for Vice President.
You can watch the video here:
Christie considered a run for the Republican nomination, but he said he would instead finish his term as mayor. Since then, Romney has evidently added Christie to his “short list” of Vice Presidental possibilities.
