Colorado Senate Bill 2, which allows same-sex couples to enter into a civil union, was passed, but not before State Senators Scott Renfroe and Kevin Lundberg had their say.
In speaking to their fellow Senators, both quoted several Bible passages to defend their position. Apparently these gentlemen are unaware of the separation between church and state.
The bill now goes to the state’s House of Representatives, where Republicans hold a 33-32 majority. It is unclear whether the same inappropriate speeches will occur.
