When people find out that I’m the creator of GaySocialites.com, I often hear “why didn’t I think of that?” Now, I’m saying the same thing after discovering “Texts from Hillary Clinton”, a Tumblr site that blogs about what texts from Hillary Clinton might sound like.
On Tuesday, Stacy Lambe and Adam Smith took up an invite by Secretary Clinton to visit with her at the State Department.
Evidently Hillary was turned onto the Tumblr site which shows a photo her texting while looking as cool as a cucumber “in a military C-17 plane from Malta bound for Tripoli, Libya October 18, 2011,” according to the original Reuters caption.
The photo of Clinton is coupled with various fictitious text exchanges between the Secretary of State and various high profile figures such as Jay-Z, President Obama, Lady Gaga and Sarah Palin. Let me just warn you, they are hilarious!
So how did they get such a genius idea?
“I just kept coming up with perfect results of people like Anna Wintour and Meryl Streep on their phones, and there’s just this natural alignment. I think a lot of people associate those three women in similar circles,” Lambe told MetroWeekly.com. “Having seen a couple of videos of Meryl Streep introducing Hillary Clinton at the women’s summit, there’s just this camaraderie there. There’s just so much respect between those two women, you can’t help but have this awesome little exchange that you think might happen.”
And how did Secretary Clinton reach out to the Tumblr bloggers? We’ll let them demonstrate below:
You’ll understand the jokes mentioened avobe a little better if you check out their Tumblr page. They’ve also got some pretty creative photos including the one at the top of this page as proof that they two gays bonded over texting with one of the most powerful women in the world.
