Singer Bobby Brown was in and out of jail on Monday in California charged with the suspicion of driving under the influence. Brown was evidently pulled over by a member of the California Highway Patrol on Monday afternoon after he was spotted by a trooper while driving and using his cell phone.
Cops say when they pulled Brown over in the San Fernando Valley and administered a field sobriety test to determine that he appeared to have been drinking.
Brown’s arrest comes just four days after the Los Angeles Coroner released the results of his ex-wife, Whitney Houston’s, toxicology results. Although Houston’s death was ruled an accidental drowning, the coroner said she used cocaine “in the time period just immediately prior to her collapse in the bathtub at the hotel.” Toxicology results also suggested “chronic usage” of the drug.
Whitney and Bobby’s 14 year marriage that ended in 2007 was tarnished by reports of drug abuse. Brown also got popped for DUI in 1996, and he served several days in the jail as a result. Then in 2002, he was arrested for driving without a license and possession of marijuana.
TMZ reports that Brown was in and out of a Van Nuys jail within hours on Monday afternoon.
