Longtime gay Congressman Barney Frank says he plans to marry his long-time partner, Jim Ready.
Frank, who is retiring after his current term ends, said earlier this month in an interview on PBS that he was looking forward to retiring from Congress to spend time with Ready.
“Look, I have a partner now, Jim Ready; I have an emotional attachment. I’m in love for the first time in my life,” Frank said on “The Charlie Rose Show.”
The two men are going to exchange vows in Frank’s homestate of Massachusetts, the first state to legalize gay marriage. Ready is a Maine resident. The couple hasn’t set a date for the big day yet.
According to a spokesperson for Rep. Frank, he and Ready have been dating since 2007.
